my take on the controversial topic-homosexuality.

on friday, while waiting for the lecturer to show up, my classmates and i ended up in an argument about the bahati law. how i got pulled into this particular argument, i know not, because ordinarily i don't involve myself in arguments that have no end in sight. if a conversation turns into an argument about homosexuality, religion or museveni versus besigye, then am out of there .fast.every one was on the bahati, african culture and christian side so naturally i had to be on the defensive. needless to say, by the time we realised that the lecturer was not coming and we might as well go back to our hostels: an hour had passed; i had been accused of being a gay supporter; being single handedly responsible for the moral decay in our society and one girl had,in threatening tone, pointed at me and said,'am watching you'.

HERE IS MY TAKE ON THIS CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC

we are all different. why? because we come from different backgrounds and are there fore influenced by different cultures , religion, beliefs and circumstances. as a christian and an african, homosexuality is against my beliefs.having said that, i shouldn't be harrassed because of what i believe in. but am also aware that there are people out there who are neither christians, nor africans and therefore do not necessarily adhere to my rules.which is fine.and even though they are africans, they are entitled to their own opinions.i don't care what your opinion is, my view is, regardless of a person's race, religion, background and sexual orientation, AS LONG AS YOU ARE A HUMAN BEING, YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT AND INTERGRITY!! christians and moslems don't have similar beliefs, yet they manage to live and work side by side.can you imagine what would happen if, say, moslems declared a jihad and started killing all non moslems? violence has never solved anything and it never will.

and as for those who hide behind christianity and the soddom and gomorrah story, killing gay people is not going to earn you points in heaven because its hateful yet, to the best of my knowledge, God is the complete opposite of this. GOD is LOVE.remember,'let he who has never sinned cast the first stone.'

  1. 100% behind you. Lol @ girl "watching you". Better watch your back for when Bahati bill becomes law, she'll sell you out. Meanwhile I've moved to wordpress so you can throw an eye yonder whenever bored:)
