six lane highway for entebbe-kampala route!!!

exciting news for entebbe residents. and by entebbe residents, i mean those whose walets are happy. because if your walet is contented, chances are, you have a personal car that takes you to and from work. am assuming work is in kampala.and if you have a car, chances are, u have been endlessly irritated by the narrow entebbe- kampala road that we are,for some reason, always mistaking for a highway.

you can now go down on your knees and thank the good Lord because a six and four lane highway will soon be upon us . as of july, construction will begin on this multi million dollar highway that, if we are to pay attention to figures (cost of $6 million per kilometer and a total cost of over $300 million), will be one of the most expensive roads in the world! fret not about the money, every one will do their bit to contribute ie tax payers, government, donors, et ce tera.even with every one chipping in to help, it is going to be very exclusive. yes, their will be a toll tax charged and whoever can't pay won't be allowed to use the road.

'how in God's name will this be done?' you ask.
how indeed?

Microchip technology will be used to ensure payment from those bold enough to use the road.

but why the fuss about how people get to use the road?

its all for security reasons. should there be a need for the president to escape from the state house, road would be the most safe alternative. a fleeing boat on lake victoria can easily be seen, ditto an aeroplane, which could then easily be brought down.
problem is entebbe- kampala road is so narrow and congested that it would be hard to make a quick escape. hence, the idea of a wide road made even more traffic free by a toll tax.
